We had a high chair for our older daughter but decided to get a booster chair for the younger ones. We take it neatly everywhere, and it makes outings much more comfortable. She's also "sitting at the table" at home so shouldn't abandon it quite as quickly as the older one did with the high chair.

Booster chair any day. Several factors-
    1. Cost
    2. Space
    3. Portability
    4. Ease of cleaning

Started at six months and still going strong at 38 months.

Booster. It's portable, and the child feels he's doing the same as us and sits readily in it. It's still very much in use at 30 months.

It can easily be transitioned as a high chair also.
