Did you have cholesterol blood tests done prior
Takes time for plaque to grow to blockage. I’m in a mess now but was blocked well before starting keto. Evidentiary evidence indicates I should have had bypass surgery when I had my first stent. What caused my sudden LDL jump was unrelated.
There is no documentation correlation the claims of keto causing heart issues — lots of wild claims.
My LDA was 100% blocked…by stents and minimal plaque. It literally fell apart in my surgeon's hands. The film was terrifying.

I have to say I think I am on the keto bandwagon to prevent this. I have been keto almost two years and my doctor was concerned early on about my inflammation and blood work and stuff so she made me go to rheumatologist and a cardiologist who did a billion tests and EKG and all the Xrays and stuff and I got the comment back that I have no plaque buildup and can’t have results any better than I have and now after blood work doc says keep doing keto and exercising so I hope yours is the case of healing.

I have been able to lower my blood pressure and cholesterol by eating this way, which is great! That said, I could still have a heart attack because of a condition I was born with. I have mitral valve prolapse with regurgitation. It means the left ventricle of my heart has to work extra hard to pump the blood back out. I will eventually have to have a surgical procedure to repair it. Meanwhile, I have to have an echocardiogram every year. I'm just saying these things are not always related to Keto and we just have to do the best we can.

I had a heart attack found out I have small vessel heart disease. It’s the vessels on the outside of the heart are all stopped up nothing for it but Drugs. I started strict keto the day I got out of the hospital eight months later, and 75 pounds down I had another heart attack my test show no plaque build-up in my arteries for my age — a stress-induced heart attack. I have now been on strict keto and IF 19/5 -7 days a week and feel great for one yr.-1/2 now. Who knows if it’s the right thing to do, but I will eat this way till I can’t. Keto is for me for sure. My heart disease is a family history and bad habits, nothing to do with keto. But I believe it’s important not to cheat, Do supplements that keto takes out of you do Electrolytes.

For plaque build-up of this magnitude to happen, it takes many many years of a poor diet to cause it. Keto does not cause it, quite the opposite in fact. Let’s keep things in perspective and not devolve into fear-mongering with wrong information. If you lived decades with a poor diet, it would take a lot more than two years to correct the damage.

I had a heart attack in 2016. Started keto about two months later, and my heart is very healthy now. For me, I don't think that keto causes heart problems. I think it will reverse those problems.

From my experience, the overwhelming majority of patients coming for bypass surgery are diabetics, hypertensives or those with a strong family history. We practically don't even consider hyperlipidemia as a contributory factor. And there are so many cases of apparently well physically fit people having coronary artery disease. It is a far more complex disease process than we think. If you have type 2 diabetes or hypertensive, keto is a great way to control and reverse your disease and thereby lower the risk of coronary disease.

I'm non-diabetic, family history for sure and slightly hypertensive.

I don't know how strict you were while doing keto before, but I would try to be as strict as possible! A lot of people that do dirty keto don't know how unhealthy it really can be for you in the long run. All those hidden sugars can cause some issues down the line.

Seed oils and soybean oil which is in a lot of cheap keto foods like ranch dressing and mayonnaise. These oils may be behind a lot of heart disease.

I did…was keto for about a year and a half before I had mine.
    I'm still keto too, btw…

Years of bad diet caused my inflammation, and a piece of plaque broke off and created a 100% blockage in the "widowmaker."
I was only 45. But had that and three other areas blocked.
My cardiologist told me to keep doing keto.
I'm still healing and getting stronger, but I do know that had I not changed my lifestyle I might not have survived.
