    I've been fasting for maybe 2-3 months now and a lot of the time I drink diet drinks while fasting, some days I've done 24 hour fasts and have had them, it does seem to be working and I'm still famished come the end of the fast I just like diet fizzy drinks as well as water.

    Some people believe they are fine while others don't; I mean, there are two conflicting arguments; for me, I see there are no calories, so a few cans a day shouldn't matter when you're doing 16-24 hours of fasting.

    It's dirty fasting, BUT I did my own very unofficial study by testing my blood sugar both pre and post Diet Coke, and it did not affect it, so I still drink one occasionally. That being said, there is evidence that artificial sweeteners negatively impact gut bacteria and insulin levels over time, so I try to avoid them.

    It depends upon your thoughts & belief system in terms of your body. Caloric wise, you’re in deficit so ok. For me, I don’t drink soda or eat animals (plant-based vegan), so for me soda, meat, eggs, or dairy; it would be a NO.

    If i drink a diet fizzy drink it spikes my blood sugar. So I guess it should be classed as breaking your fast.
