Can Certain Medications Stop You From Going into Ketosis?

I have been on lazy keto for three weeks and strict keto for 2… so in five weeks I’ve lost 10 lbs but can’t get into ketosis… my bliss meter only reads .2. I think It might be that I’m eating too much chicken?? My question for all of you is: Can certain medications stop you from going into ketosis?? Thyroid medication or hormone replacement??

As per my personal experience, getting into ketosis is all amount carb reduction. The whole "high protein" thing is an on-demand situation, not something to throw you completely out of ketosis. In the end, find the hidden carbs …. when in doubt.. do an avocado fast for four days. Step one – get into ketosis. Step Two – become "fat adapted"] One thing at a time.

Ketosis is all about carb reduction. If you've been doing net carbs, try total.

I track my carbs and don't go over…. it is set at 5% carbs. I will continue to look for any hidden carbs. I will increase my fat… But I am starting to wonder if it is the hormones that I take….

Grams are way more important. You should be under 20g.

What kind of hormones are you repleting? Some hormones increase blood sugar, which promotes insulin release, and we all know that's bad for weight loss.

Progesterone, testosterone and then thyroid medication.
